Description
Its rich history as the capital of the Holy Roman Empire and its present as the main financial center of the European Union make Frankfurt one of the most interesting cities to visit in Germany.
We will start our tour at the gate of the Imperial Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, "Kaiserdom", and we will visit different places of interest in the old town, such as the Town Hall, St. Nicholas Church, St. Paul's Church or Goethe's birthplace.
Each of these places will help us to discover and link the history of the city from its origin with topics such as the importance of the Holy Roman Empire, its development and its fall, the influence of Goethe and Romanticism in the city and of course the Second World War, the role of Frankfurt in Nazism, as well as the bombing and reconstruction of the city.
In the second part of the tour, we will walk through the financial district, unveiling the most interesting details of the main skyscrapers of the Skyline, visit the ECB headquarters and discuss its impact on the development of modern Frankfurt as one of the most important financial centers in the world.
We will end the tour at the Untermainbrücke bridge, with a beautiful panoramic view of the two sides of the city.
