Tour through out pintoresque landscape of Czech-German border to Dresden and nearby located fairytale palace Moritzburg situated at a little island in the middle of lake.
8:00 AM – Departure from Prague
Your day begins early in the morning as you set off from Prague towards Dresden. The drive takes approximately two hours, offering you the chance to enjoy the scenic landscapes as you pass through northern Bohemia and into Saxony.
10:30 AM – Arrival in Dresden
Upon arriving in Dresden, you’ll embark on a walking tour of this historic city, often called the “Florence on the Elbe” because of its rich architecture and cultural heritage.
Some of the mail places you can visit in Dresden is for example Zwinger Palace – a monumental Baroque palace with beautiful gardens and the renowned Old Masters Gallery, Frauenkirche – the famous Protestant church that was destroyed during World War II and later rebuilt or the Semper Opera House – one of Europe’s most significant opera houses, known for its neo-Renaissance architecture.
You’ll have some free time to explore the city, enjoy the views of the Elbe River, or relax in a café with a traditional German pastry.
1:00 PM – Lunch
Around noon, you’ll enjoy lunch at a typical Saxon restaurant. We recommend trying local specialties such as Saxon sausage or potato salad.
2:30 PM – Departure for Moritzburg Castle
After lunch, you’ll head approximately 20 minutes northwest to Moritzburg Castle. This stunning Baroque hunting lodge is set amidst a picturesque lake complex, surrounded by forests and parks.
At the castle, you can explore the grand interiors filled with hunting trophies and Baroque art, visit an exhibition dedicated to the beloved fairytale movie Three Wishes for Cinderella, which was partly filmed here, or enjoy a stroll in the expansive castle grounds with beautiful views of the surrounding nature.
5:00 PM – Departure back to Prague
After your tour of the castle and a short break for coffee or dessert, you’ll begin your journey back to Prague.
7:30 PM – Arrival in Prague
You’ll return to Prague in the early evening, full of memories from this wonderful trip filled with history, culture, and natural beauty.
