Category:
Country: Georgia
Duration:
06:00 hours
Description
Experience both Mtskheta and Tbilisi with a delicious lunch and famous organic Georgian wines. Throughout 1 day you will have the opportunity to visit both sites, with a 4-hour walk around Tbilisi, a cable-car ride, and a sample of local organic wines.
Your tour will begin as you are picked up from your accommodation at 9:30AM. The tour is divided into two parts, with the first part dedicated to Mtskheta and the second part dedicated to Tbilisi. In between the 2 halves of your tour, you will also enjoy a delicious Georgian lunch.
Mtskheta is just a 20-minute drive from Tbilisi, and both of the historical sights of this town are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will discover here the Jvari Monastery (a 16th-century monastery), and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (an 11th-century cathedreal). Mtskheta has always been one of the most important towns for Georgians, who have tried their best to maintain the value of the city and preserve it.
After you have enjoyed visiting the old capital, you will drive back to Tbilisi. Your guide will then park your car at the starting point, before you head towards Tbilisi on a walking tour. Your walking tour will last for approximately 3-4 hours depending on how fast or slow you walk. Once you feel hungry throughout your walk, you will enter a Georgian restaurant to enjoy some typical Georgian cuisine. Your tour will eventually end in the center of the city, with your guide more than happy to take you to your accommodation or another part of town upon request.
