Tour program:
1. Bariauri village
We will start with a real Georgian atmosphere. You will see how traditional Georgian bread “shoti” is baked in a clay oven and try it fresh, hot, along with homemade Georgian cheese. This is the perfect start to get acquainted with the local cuisine and traditions.
2. Mzis Guli village
Then we will go to a wine house, where you will taste four types of Georgian wine (Saperavi, Kindzmarauli, Rkatsiteli from qvevri and from a barrel), homemade chacha, churchkhela and fruit pastilles. Learn more about the wine production processes and enjoy the flavors that reveal the soul of Kakheti.
3. Bodbe Monastery
Continue your journey to Bodbe Monastery, the resting place of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia. Here you will find peace, tranquility and magnificent views of the surrounding area. This is one of the most significant spiritual places in the country.
4. Sighnaghi
Sighnaghi, known as the “city of love”, captivates with its cozy streets, beautiful houses with balconies and views of the Alazani Valley. Here we will walk along the famous fortress walls with towers that create a unique medieval atmosphere. Don’t forget to take amazing photos for memory!
5. Telavi and the 900-year-old plane tree
In Telavi, the administrative center of Kakheti, you will see a majestic 900-year-old plane tree, which has become a symbol of the city. This place seems to take you back in time, connecting history and modernity.
6. Restaurant with tasting
The final point of gastronomic pleasure is a cozy restaurant where you will find traditional Georgian dishes and the opportunity to taste even more local wines. This is a great way to end the day.
7. Return via Gombori Pass
The road back goes through the picturesque Gombori Pass, from where stunning views of the mountains and valleys open up. This is the perfect moment to sum up the day and enjoy the last impressions before returning to Tbilisi.
