Description
Explore the wine tradition in France and visit Bordeaux, the french wine capital, and a famous winery! Learn about the history and wine culture of this city!
Wine is a huge part of the culture and gastronomy of France. With its origins in the Roman Empire, France is the country with the second most vineyards in the world.
From San Sebastián, we will travel to a Château, a castle where for decades wine has been produced. You will learn about the care of the vineyards and the production of wine and also about Clemente V, as he was called, a pope who was known for his sophisticated and innovative techniques in the collection and treatment of grapes. You will get the chance to try some different wines and learn about the differences between them and Spanish wine.
Our next stop will be Bordeaux. In the french capital of wine, we will have a guided tour to learn about its history. We will visit landmarks like the gothic cathedral of Saint André, the Place de la Bourse and its imperial theaters and churches. We will walk through different neighborhoods, where we find the Place du Parlament. After walking through the city's beautiful streets, you will have free time to eat and discover the city's gastronomy. We recommend you try their special Bordeaux sauce, typical of the area, and accompany it with a glass of wine since you are in a city that is highly dedicated to the wine industry.
After this experience, you will feel completely like a winemaker, having learned about its process, its importance in French culture, and its great production that travels many countries!
