Explore 3 of the most enchanting cities in Provence on a full-day sightseeing tour of Marseille, Cassis, and Aix-en-Provence. Admire the architecture, local landmarks, and the Mediterranean coast.
Meet your local guide at the iconic Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) in Marseille for a captivating walking and scenic driving tour. This exceptional half-day tour offers an in-depth look at the city’s fascinating past, impressive architecture, and breathtaking panoramic views.
Your adventure begins in "Le Panier," the oldest and most charming district of Marseille. Here, you’ll stroll along narrow, cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses, vibrant murals, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Immerse yourself in the area's rich history, from its early days to its influence on the city’s culture. Discover places such as the historic Vieille Charité, and witness the artistic energy that flows through its streets, where contemporary street art blends seamlessly with the city’s heritage.
Next, hop into a comfortable van for a scenic drive up to Notre-Dame de la Garde, Marseille’s iconic basilica. Sitting high above the city, this architectural masterpiece offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea and the stunning coastline below.
There are some places you can’t help falling in love with at first sight and Cassis is one of them! For your afternoon, set off for an unforgettable visit and take in the panoramic view from the Cape Canaille, the highest maritime cliff in Europe (photo stop) as you go.
Upon arriving in Cassis, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the charming old fishing port, with its vibrant, colorful boats. If you join the tour on a Wednesday, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore the local market.
You can also opt to take a one-hour cruise from Cassis to discover the stunning calanques : limestone cliffs plunging into the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, creating picturesque natural coves.
These dramatic rock formations, resembling the jagged Norwegian fjords, stretch out into the sea (cruise ticket is not included- to buy on spot only).
Continue to Aix en Provence for the rest of the excursion. Stroll on the famous Cours Mirabeau dotted with refreshing fountains. Admire the private mansions from 17th and 18th centuries. Free time before a drive back to Marseille.
