Description

Experience D Day through the eyes of a Native American combat-medic from The Big Red One. Feel the horror and nobility of the army’s sacrifice amongst the ruins still strewn across Omaha Beach.
Relive the Normandy Landing, the hellscape of bloodshed that so many did not survive. Charles Shay, as played by your actor-guide-  is there to tend to the wounded in a desperate bid to save their lives against all hope, these men who have become - in the massive training that led to this moment– bound in friendship, in brotherhood. A proud member of the Amerindian Penobscot Nation, Charles Shay will recount the largest amphibian landing in history – 130 000 combatants –  and how it happened in record time. You will learn of Operation Neptune, Mulberry Pass, Mission Round up,and Mission Tiger among others, including the counter espionage mission, Fortitude. At his side you will learn the grand plan, and dive deeply into its complexity.Only through this ordeal by fire of June 6, 1944 can there be hope of saving France and the entirety of Europe from the Nazi menace. Charles Shay, was one among the many ready to offer his life to this end. With him as witness, and through his memories, you will understand D Day as never before. You will know the violence, the sacrifice, the casualties and the ultimate triumph that lay at the day’s close, the start of a long, long road ahead of these soldiers of the Normandy beaches. Nothing about the victory was guaranteed. It might have failed tragically leaving the world victim to Fascist oppression. It was the successes of Omaha Beach that ultimately turned the tide in favor of freedom.
