Description
Meet your local guide Laurianne and visit some of Marseille's must-see treasures on this walking tour that's perfect for those short on time but who still want to see the best of the city.
The visit begins in the Old Port, under the new architectural art work, the 'Ombrière'. Here is where the daily fish market takes place. It is a typical place to discover the local gastronomy and learn a bit more about the very famous fish soup 'la Bouillabaisse'.
The visit continues a few steps away, in Marseille’s oldest neighborhood, where the Greeks began the foundation of the city, Le Panier. It is the perfect place to walk down small alleyways, discover the 17th century building 'La Vieille Charité' and do some shopping (perhaps for the famous soap 'Savon de Marseille'). Why not eat the famous navettes, and the best ice-cream in town?
The tour continue to the new docks, to see the beautiful Cathedral 'Notre Dame de la Major' and go to the new MuCEM museum, where there is one of the most beautiful view of the city and the sea. You'll finish the tour in front of the main city hall, a beautiful building created by the famous King Louis 14.
