Join a hunt for the Northern Lights away from the city's light pollution. Find clear skies with a local guide and witness one of the most beautiful shows nature has to offer!
• A local guide with extensive knowledge of Lapland and the Auroras will pick you up from you accommodation, take you to hunt for the Northern Lights far away from the city's light pollution and drop you off back to your accommodation after the hunt. The group size is max 8 people.
• The tour happens only if the conditions are promising enough to see the Auroras. This means that the space weather has to be active enough and the skies are forecasted to be clear of clouds somewhere within a 400-500km driving distance from Rovaniemi. We might have to switch locations multiple times during a tour to find the best conditions possible.
• The starting time and duration of the tour can change and is based on the conditions on any given day. If we have to drive for longer to get to clear skies, we leave earlier and in case of a shorter drive we might leave later. This is why the departure changes between 16:00 and 20:00 and the duration of the tour can take anywhere from 5 to 12 hours. Keep in mind that we don't leave right after we've spotted the first Auroras but stay and enjoy the show for as long as we can!
• Northern Lights Guarantee: if for any reason we don't get to see the Auroras during the tour despite my best efforts, your ticket price will be refunded in full and you can pay a voluntary fee to cover some basic costs such as fuel for the car. If a tour is unsuccesful or canceled altogether due to poor conditions, you can book a seat on a tour on the following days, based on availability. Tour cancellation on my part issues a full refund of your ticket.
• Because the tours can take long, amenities can be very limited and the weather can get cold, the tour is generally suitable for adults only.

The duration of the tour (5-12 hours) and the departure time from Rovaniemi (between 16:00 and 20:00) depends on the conditions on that day
Note that the strength of the Auroras varies greatly and the human eye cannot see their colors as well as cameras
Multi-colored strong Auroras that move quick are rare and most times the Auroras can look faint green or even gray to the eye
Because the tours can take long, the weather can get cold and there are very limited amenities during the night, the tours are suited for adults only
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
