Established as a protected forest in 1955 and later designated as a landscape forest, Auttiköngäs now proudly stands as part of Northern Finland's old-growth forest protection program. Its ancient forests, untouched by organized logging, can be rightfully classified as primary or virgin forest. The area's historical significance extends to the days of the Continuation War (1941-44), when German soldiers, stationed at Autti, felled trees for fortification purposes.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
