Spend a day on the most beautiful ISLAND in Coron! Malcapuya Island is renowned throughout the region as one of the most singularly beautiful Islands in the Archipelago. With its Crystal clear blue waters and powdery white sands, it is the heavenly idyllic beach where you can kick back and relax. Get to visit also Banana Island and Bulog Dos Island.
Destinations:
• Malcapuya Island
The picture-perfect southern beach has shallow waters of varying shades of aquamarine, turquoise, and emerald. This beach is perfect for swimming, although the growth of seagrass several meters from the shore might deter swimmers from looking for a nice, perfectly clean beach. Beyond the seagrass and not 100 meters from the shore is an extensive bed of corals containing a wide variety of colorful marine life including giant clams and a few species of clownfish. A pity since the western portion of the beach contains tall karst or limestone rock formations that would have made for excellent photo opportunities.
• Banana Island
Banana Island also known as Dicalabuan Island, is part of a group of three islands south of Busuanga. It is more excited about touring the island than taking a siesta. This beach isn’t as long and much of it was a mixture of small pebbles, corals, and sand. There is a curving stretch of fine, powdery, and blindingly white sand on the island’s northwestern corner, however, where a volleyball net had been set up. The water in front of the northern beach was clear but deeper. There’s a coral reef lying just off this beach.
• Bulog Dos Island
Bulog Dos is one of the many beautiful islands of the Calamianes. It is located close to the tip of Malaroyroy Peninsula at the northern end of Bulalacao, is an island located southwest of Coron Island and adjacent to Culion Island (Bulog Dos is actually closer to Culion than Coron). We were told that Malaroyroy Peninsula itself is no longer accessible to the public since the Two Seasons Resort on that location. One can easily see Two Seasons from Bulog Dos but you cannot go any further beyond a hill overlooking the resort. Bulog Dos itself looks more beautiful with its short stretch of white sandy beach, crystal-clear aquamarine waters, and a long snaking sandbar that connects it to Malaroyroy Peninsula and the rest of Bulalacao. Another wonderful discovery made in Bulog Dos is the presence of colorful corals and a variety of other marine life several meters off the beach and just beyond the layer of seagrass close to shore. The fishes here are not shy and would even swarm around you.
