About me: I am Daniel, and am a graduate of the Addis Ababa University history program. I am originally from Gondar, but now live in Addis Ababa. I love the energy of this city and can’t imagine living anywhere else.

In the morning, we’ll climb up to Mount Entoto through eucalyptus trees, and see spectacular views of Addis Ababa. We’ll then visit Entoto Maryam Church, the original palace of Emperor Menelik II.

On the way back to the city, we will visit the Ethnographic Museum at Addis Ababa University, in the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie. Next, we will proceed to the National Museum of Ethiopia, where we will visit the skeleton of one of our oldest hominid ancestors, Lucy, who lived 3.2 million years ago.

Lunch

After lunch, we will visit Holy Trinity Cathedral, followed by Bata Mariam Church, which houses the crypt of Emperor Menelik, then St. George Church, three of the most important churches in Addis Ababa. We will then round the day out with a trip to Merkato, the largest open -air market in Africa, where I will help you find some bargain souvenirs. We’ll end our tour with a traditional Ethiopian coffee.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
