Description
Discover the richness of Catalonia in one trip: starting at the Monastery of Montserrat, exploring its history, and then dive into Barcelona, visiting the emblematic Sagrada Familia.
We will start our trip from your hotel in Salou, Cambrils or Tarragona, at the agreed time, heading towards our first stop, the Monastery of Montserrat, in a journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Montserrat is one of the most important religious sites in Spain. The mountain of Montserrat, known as the 'jagged mountain', features a unique rock formation and is home to a Benedictine monastery famous for the statue of La Moreneta (The Black Madonna), the patron saint of Catalonia.
During the visit, we will explore the basilica, which is notable for its 12-meter organ and 4,200 pipes. We will learn about the fascinating history of the monastery as we tour this mystical place of worship. After the visit to the sanctuary, you will have free time to enjoy the spectacular viewpoints that offer unparalleled panoramic views.
After the visit to Montserrat, we will continue our tour to Barcelona for a 4-hour tour. This is the perfect opportunity to get an up-close look at the Catalan capital with an expert tour guide.
Our first stop in Barcelona will be the Sagrada Familia, an unfinished masterpiece by Antoni Gaudi and an icon of modernist architecture. During the visit, we will learn about the history of this impressive temple and marvel at its grandiose interior.
Next, we will take a panoramic tour of Barcelona. We will visit Paseo de Gracia, one of Barcelona's main avenues, known for its commercial and business areas, as well as its showcase of outstanding modernist architecture. Here you will admire iconic buildings such as Casa Batlló and La Pedrera by Antoni Gaudí, and other buildings by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, declared World Heritage Sites.
We will take a break to enjoy lunch.
We will continue with a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona's medieval old town. We will stroll through its charming corners, picturesque squares and narrow alleys. We will visit Plaza Real, Plaça Sant Jaume and Plaza del Rey, places full of history and tradition. We will also explore Barcelona's splendid Gothic Cathedral and the Jewish Quarter, one of the oldest and best preserved areas of the city center.
We will end our tour in Plaza de Cataluña, a central square of Barcelona and one of the nerve centers of the city. At the end, we will return to Salou, completing a day full of history, culture and breathtaking scenery. We will drop you off at your hotel, concluding a day full of discoveries and unforgettable experiences.
