Ride with us and park your car stress-free! We don't park you on the side of the road like other providers do, so there are no surprises on arrival—you're parking in an actual Park-and-Ride.
While you are out on the Trek across the volcanic alpine landscape of dramatic contrasts you know your car is secure.

The best thing to do is book a spot for your car at the private Ketetahi Car Park, which includes a shuttle to start the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike at Mangatepopo. It's that easy!

This is a secure car park with parking guards on site till 5 pm and 24/7 video monitoring with remote access – so your car will be safe, and you have ample time to get back.

When you reach the end of the track, you walk another 10 minutes back to the car park, where your vehicle awaits, and you can drive off at your leisure.

- Moderate physical fitness is required to complete the hike.
If travelling from Taupo Turangi, make sure to take HWY 1 and turn onto HWY46 (National Park). Once you are on HWY46, it will take 15-20 minutes to get to the car park. The actual sign is on the right side of the road and says 'TONGARIRO SHUTTLE CAR PARK'. If travelling from National Park Village, take HWY 47. Travel that road for approximately 25 to 30 minutes, then turn right onto HWY 46 (Rangipo). It will take approximately 10 minutes to get to the car park from there. It's 400 meters from the Ketetahi track entrance sign. The staff will be at the car park to check you in. Show your confirmation.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
