Description
You can enjoy an authentic Japanese style Bento lunch with 180-degree spectacular sea views in front of us. And then, we go sightseeing to the precious heritage of Awaji Island!
Have you ever heard of “Awaji Island”? The island is mentioned in Japan's oldest history book “Kojiki”, and in the Chronicles of Japan “Nihon Shoki”. First of all, let me tell you that Awaji Island is very important in Japanese history and mythology. Today, Awaji Island is one of the leading resort islands in the Kansai region, easily accessible from Osaka. It takes only an hour from Kobe by bus, buses are also available from Osaka, but it is faster and easier to take the train from Osaka to Kobe, so I would recommend taking the bus from Kobe. When you cross the world's second longest suspension bridge (until 2022, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world), and get there, you will be impressed by the rich nature surrounded by the sea and mountains. And above all, Awaji Island is a treasure trove for delicious food nurtured by nature! We serve “Bento”, a traditional Japanese lunch made with local ingredients on this island. There are indoor (air-conditioned) tables with spectacular sea views and a spacious terrace where you can feel the breeze and listen to the sound of the waves. Sake, local specialty fruit juice and coffee can also be ordered at there. After enjoying a picnic lunch, let's go sightseeing on Awaji Island together!
【Izanagi Jingu】is a venerable shrine to enshrine the creator deity of Japan, who is also father of Amaterasu Omikami, the supreme deity of Japan. A formal visit to Izanagi Jingu is the highlight of this tour. No hard knowledge or etiquette is required. All that is required for worship is good manners and respect. Without a guide, it would be difficult to actually visit Izanagi Jingu on Awaji Island and understand Japanese mythology. If you would like to speak to a guide in more detail, we can provide you with an Izanagi Shrine’s local guide. In this case, we must make a reservation at least 10 days in advance, so please let us know. *Additional fees will be charged and local guides are not available during official ritual events. *You must pay a fee for formal visiting the shrine. There is no special fee for regular visiting the shrine.
