Description
Travel on a full day trip and enjoy the most photographed island! Stunning volcanic landscapes make this corner of the world a unique place.
The visit to Bartholomew Island includes a visit to Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island.
Located on Santiago Island, it is one of the most interesting lava fields in the entire archipelago. Through a short walk, you can experience the volcanic origins of the bay and compare the different types of lava found after the volcanic eruption. Between Pahohoe type lava paths, and trails adorned with pioneer plants in the Galapagos such as the "Mollugo", we will arrive at the beach where you will have the option to swim and enjoy the white sand beach, observing different species of fish and other animals, such as turtles or sea lions, it is even possible to find Galapagos penguins.
About Bartolome Island:
This small uninhabited island is located in the center of the archipelago and, on a clear day, more than ten islands can be seen from the top of the viewpoint. The diversity and richness of this island is related to the Upwelling Phenomenon, the very cold water surrounds the coast and provides food for many marine species.
The Pinnacle, a high and inclined peak formed by an eroded tuff cone, is the most emblematic formation of the archipelago and something worth contemplating. At its base, a small colony of penguins cohabits with sea lions and seabirds. On its beach, juvenile sharks can be seen swimming along the coastline, and sometimes in the surroundings, a hawk dominates the air. Great opportunities to snorkel with penguins and sea lions on a golden sandy beach at the foot of the popular Pinnacle will be part of the activities within this tour.
For many visitors, this may be the ultimate snorkeling experience. There is the possibility of swimming with zigzagging penguins chasing small schools of fish or watching them sitting on the rocks during the tour.
