From Puerto Plata: Horseback ride along the mountain river

Experience an adventure in the lap of exotic nature - a horseback ride along a mountain river. Though the tour is doable for everyone, you'll feel like a cowboy and conquer sites off the beaten track!
For the tour, we pick up clients from Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete and surrounding areas. You can point us to any pickup address in the area :)

To start, we'll drive to a rancho in the countryside, where we'll have coffee and get instructions for the horseback ride. The important thing is that the activity is designed for both experienced riders and people who have never even sat on a horse's back in their lives ;)

Just remember to have comfortable clothes (such as a t-shirt and shorts or leggings) and shoes that won't fall off your feet (athletic shoes, water shoes or trekking sandals). A handy bag or backpack for water, camera, or phone is also useful. Such equipment is completely enough to become a Dominican cowboy :)

The route of our ride will lead through country roads, pastures and finally in the gentle mountains, where we will reach the river. From this point on we will follow the riverbed and cross it many times, which is very picturesque as well as fun. Both horses and riders have fun as we ride into the water! We will also make a stop to rest and swim in the river :)

Our horseback trip usually lasts between 2.5 and 3.5 hours. After returning to the rancho, we will celebrate the happily completed ride with a sip of mamajuana :)

As an option, you can opt for an extended tour option - a 4 hour ride with lunch included.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
