Discover the charming Magellanic penguins and enjoy the beauty of the Península Valdés on this day trip from Puerto Madryn. See penguins up close at a colony and spot exotic sea life at Punta Norte.
We depart early in the morning from your hotel in Puerto Madryn towards the Península Valdés Natural Protected Area, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. After an hour's journey, we arrive at the picturesque ecological village of Puerto Pirámides. Here you can optionally (not included) embark the Traditional Regular Whale Watching of Southern Right Whales between the months of September and November.
Next, we head to Estancia San Lorenzo, a traditional Patagonian cattle ranch that is home to the world's largest colony of Magellanic penguins. Here, lunch service is available (not included) with an exquisite spit-roasted lamb, and we will visit the penguin colony located 7 km from the ranch's headquarters. From San Lorenzo, we move to the Punta Norte Reserve to observe, depending on the time of year, one-hair sea lions, southern elephant seals, and occasionally orcas.
From there, we begin our return to Puerto Madryn with a stop at the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, a compilation of the natural richness of the peninsula. During the excursion, we have great chances of observing terrestrial wildlife, such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras, armadillos, and skunks.
At the end of the excursion, you will be transferred back to your accommodation in Puerto Madryn.

* Whale Watching boat ride is not included. You can add it for an extra cost.
* In case of rain, this tour may be canceled or rescheduled. In case of cancellation, a full refund will be made.
* Pick-up between 07:30 and 8 am
* Pick-up and drop-off are not included from accommodation located outside the center of the city of Puerto Madryn. In this case, the passenger will need to go to a meeting point (located in the center of the city - we will provide the address on your confirmation)
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
