Keep your eyes on the sky when hiking this trail, we often see pairs of scarlet macaws flying overhead. Famous for scarlet macaws, an abundance of bird life, three kinds of monkeys, iguanas, colorful frogs and crocodiles.
Carara National Park is located in Turrubares and Garabito - Provinces of San José and Puntarenas.
The main entrance is located 2 kilometers south of the Río Grande de Tárcoles bridge. Carara National Park, which means river of lizards in the Huetar indigenous language, has the only transitional forest in the Central Pacific, resulting in a diversity of flora and fauna where native species of both dry forests and rain forests converge.
Directions
From San José, take Route 27 towards Caldera. After passing the last toll in Pozón, exit toward Tárcoles-Jacó (Route 34). Continue for about 14 km. The park is located 2 km from the Tárcoles River Bridge on the road to Jacó.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
