Guapi: 4-Day River, Ocean and National Park Communities

Explore an emergent Pacific destination, meet the Guapi's riverside communities on this 4-day tour. You will experience canoing, getting molusks from the mangroves, fishing the artisan way and a day on Gorgona Island.
You can fly from Bogota or Medellin to Cali and from here you will take a plane to Guapi's National Airport where the tour starts; you will enjoy a 4 day and 3 nights Communitarian and Nature tour to the Pacific region of Cauca. 3 nights accomodation in Guapi, all meals, river and sea transport included. As well as a bilingual guide.

Day1. Enjoy a tour through the main streets of the municipality, in which you will learn the most important details of the territory, its history, experiences and differentiating aspects of its culture, while delighting yourself with music, ancestral beverages and the best cuisine in the region.
Day2. Let yourself be carried away by the magic of medicinal, aromatic and seasoning plants, which are cultivated on "rooftops"; the flavors of the sweets and mecatos of the Pacific, which you will learn to make in the community of Joanico. Venture out to enjoy the benefits offered by the Guapi River by taking a "potrillo" (canoe) tour combined with artisanal fishing activities and recreational swimming.
Connect with the community of Quiroga and its nature, where the roar of the sea meets the backwater river. Immerse yourself in the experience of "pianguar" and "almejear" in the mangrove along with the knowledgeable ones who will share with you the techniques of this artisanal method of collecting molluscs. Venture out and learn about the arts of artisanal fishing in the sea, enjoy a fishing task with the best fishermen.
Day3. You will embark on a nature speedboat adventure to meet humpback whales and the Gorgona Island Natural National Park, which was known as the Colombian Alcatraz more than 30 years ago. (a maximum security prison)
Close this wonderful experience with a night full of flavors and knowledge; Enjoy a cultural sample with a marimba group and delight your palate with drinks and traditional dishes.
Day 4. Transfer out to Guapi Airport. 8 am.
