The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (National Fine Arts Museum) is located in the Plains of Abraham in Quebec's Battlefield's Park. With over 40,000 pieces of art from over 4,500 Quebec artists; it is the only museum entirely dedicated to Quebec art including an exclusive exhibition on Inuit art.

The urban park in which the museum if located is one of the most marvelous in the world. With 108 hectares of plains, wooded areas and gardens it is a green oasis in the heart of the city. Visited each year by thousands of residents and visitors., the back of the Musem provides a magnificent view of the park and the St. Lawrence River. The museum complex made up of four buildings, the Gérard-Morisset Pavilion, the Charles Baillairgé Pavilion, the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion, and the Central Pavilion/Grand Hall. A tunnel network connects the pavilions.

The Pierre Lassonde pavilion, located on the marvellous Grande Allée, is the gateway to the Museum. It includes the ticket counter, cloakroom, boutique and café. The building’s architecture is harmoniously tiered with generous exhibition spaces: six exhibition galleries for the display of post-1960 collections, two temporary exhibition galleries and three permanent exhibition galleries (contemporary art, Inuit art and decorative arts and design) and Jean Paul Riopelle's monumental fresco "Tribute to Rosa Luxemburg". The building is a powerful architectural statement covered entirely in glass.

The standard MNBAQ Collections include; Us, Inuit Art, The Brousseau Collection, Illipunga, Decorative Arts and Design in Québec, Contemporary Art in Québec, Tribute to Rosa Luxemburg from Jean Paul Riopelle.

The MNBAQ is proud to present Alexander McQueen: Art Meets Fashion, the first Canadian exhibition devoted to the effervescent creative universe of this key figure in the fashion industry between 1990 and 2010.

Nov 2, 2023 - March 17, 2024 : View the Night
The MNBAQ wishes to promote the works in its collection by presenting a group exhibition focusing on the theme of the night. View the Night seeks to place the works at the heart of an immersive experience in which visitors’ senses, feelings and, indeed, memories guide them.

April 25, 2024 - Sept 2, 2024 : Rembrandt
The exhibition presents Rembrandt’s engravings, which established the artist’s reputation and have always been appreciated by art lovers. Rembrandt produced 300 engravings between 1625 and 1665.

The Pierre Lassonde Pavilion situated at 179, Grande Allée Ouest is the entrance to the MNBAQ. It leads directly to the ticket counter, where visitors can obtain their bracelets. Because of preparatory work on the Espace Riopelle, the Central Pavilion, the Gérard Morisset Pavilion, and the Charles Baillairgé Pavilion are now closed. The parking lot behind the Charles Baillairgé Pavilion is open. Please note that visitors must walk outside for several minutes to reach the entrance to the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion.
