Description
Journey back in time and explore the mysterious temples of Koh Ker and Beng Mealea on a tour departing from Siem Reap. Learn more about the former royal capital of Cambodia during the Khmer Empire.
Depart Siem Reap and journey through the beautiful countryside to explore the ruins of Beng Mealea temple on the ancient royal highway to Preah Khan Kompong Svay.
Built out of sandstone as a Hindu temple in the 12th century, Beng Mealea has been partly reclaimed by nature where remains of the towers and courtyards can be seen in the thick brush of the dense jungle.
Travel on to Koh Ker, abandoned to the forests north of Siem Reap, and see some of the linga-shrines reclaimed from nature. Marvel at the ruins of sacred sites such as Prasat Thom, Prasat Pram, and Prasat Chrap, and get fascinating insights into the history, culture, and religions of the time. Relax in a nearby restaurant, where you can try traditional curries, soups, and stir-fries at your own expense.
After your tour, be transported back to your hotel.
