Day 1 - Phnom Kulen Sightseeing
Meet your tour guide and driver in the lobby of the hotel you are staying in.
Depart for Kulen mountain, where the cradle of Khmer civilisation is located 60 km northeast from Siem Reap and is an important pilgrimage site for Cambodian people. Visit the sites in Phnom Kulen, which include a Buddhist Pagoda with giant Reclining Buddha, Hindu carvings in the stone river bed and an impressive waterfall under which swimming is possible. Proceed to a small temple of Banteay Srei, on your way back, which is well known for its beautiful delicate carvings in warm pink sandstone. Go to Banteay Samre, which is a larger temple and is often overlooked by tourists. It looks gorgeous in the late afternoon light.

Pick up you at the lobby of hotel. Transfer to visit the ancient city through its South Gate and see the temple of Bayon. Click photographs of the temple while the guide explains many intricate carvings on the wall of the galleries. See Baphuon temple with its long causeway and an impressive giant Reclining Buddha. Visit Phimeanakas temple, which is hidden in the shaded jungle and offers a decent over-the-treetops view to those who conquer the steep steps to the top. Proceed to admire the esplanade of the Royal Palace, more commonly known as the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Go to see Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument ever built. One can simply spend hours marvelling at the grandeur of this temple, its many levels and intricate carvings adorning the many galleries. Back to hotel and drop off.
