Following a pick-up from your hotel, drive to Sé Cathedral to see a wonderful example of Roman-Gothic medieval architecture. Built for the 1st Bishop of Lisbon, just after the re-taking of Lisbon from the Moors in 1147, the basilica has survived many earthquakes to stand tall at the heart of the city.
Go to the Castle of St. George (Castle of São Jorge), built by the Moors and proudly overlooking the city from one of its hills. Enjoy panoramic views across the city, before exploring the historic Belém district where the Portuguese navigators set off on their explorations to build a Portuguese Empire.
