Description
Hike along two trails through the rainforest in Cantareira Natural Park. Take a refreshing dip in two natural pools, and see the old dam that used to control the water supply to São Paulo.
After pickup from São Paulo, drive to Cantareira Natural Park. Your tour guide will provide an introduction about the park and explain. Visit the park’s main camp, where there is a fauna interpretation center and a model of the Cantareira Mountains.
After a safety briefing, start the first hiking route called the Macuco Trail. Learn about the species of fauna and flora of the rainforest as you go. Continue to the Waterfall Trail where you will cross the Engordador River at several different points. Make a stop for photos and a refreshing swim at 2 different natural pools created by waterfalls.
After the hike, visit the Cantareira Dam, which used to control the water supply for São Paulo city. See the old machines and hydraulic pump house, and admire the scenery from the viewpoint. The tour ends with some free time to take photos and enjoy the peaceful rainforest scenery, before driving back to São Paulo.
