Rio’s aerial tramway system, taking visitors to the top of Sugarloaf, has been around for more than 100 years. In its early days the Sugarloaf cable car added an important feature to Brazilian tourism and has since become world famous.
Today, the sight of the constant come and go of the bondinho or cable car is part of the city’s landscape. Take it to the top and enjoy the 360-degree view of the city. Admire the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, and Flamengo, from above.
