Description

The Salar de Uyuni, located in southwestern Bolivia, is the largest salt flat in the world and an impressive natural spectacle.
Day 1: DEPARTURE AT 07:30 AM Shared minibus transfer to the Cajón landmark (border between Chile and Bolivia).

The adventure begins by exploring the “REA” (Eduardo Abaroa Reserve), an environment surrounded by majestic mountains and volcanoes that rise to almost 6,000 meters above sea level. Here, you will have the opportunity to contemplate indescribable landscapes, such as the Lagunas de Colores (white, green and red). These lagoons are breeding habitats for three species of flamingos, as well as for various migratory birds that number in the thousands in its mineral-rich waters. You will enjoy a relaxing bath in the hot springs, observe the geothermal activity in the Geysers and explore one of the most important reserves of flora and fauna in the Bolivian Altiplano. Finally, we will stay in the picturesque town of Villamar (first night at the Family Hostel).

Day 2: DEPARTURE AT 8:30 AM FROM YOUR HOSTEL Continue your adventure exploring the desert, where you can admire various rock formations such as the Lost Italy and El Camello. We will arrive at Laguna Catal, where, in its bofedales, you can spot Andean birds. We will continue through the Valley of Las Rocas and the picturesque highland villages until we reach Uyuni. Here, you will visit the largest salt flat in the world, a place that invites you to connect with the wildest of nature, ideal for lovers of photography and adventure tourism. In the salt flat, we will visit the Salt Museum and Los Ojos del Salar, then enjoy the sunset and spend the night in the city of Uyuni (second night in a Salt Hostel).

Day 3: DEPARTURE AT 7:00 AM FROM YOUR HOSTEL Return to Hito Cajón (Chile-Bolivia border), followed by a minibus transfer back to San Pedro de Atacama.

RETURN: Approximately 16:00 to San Pedro de Atacama.
