See the heights of the Salar de Uyuni on a full-day excursion to the train cemetery, salt mines, a salt hotel, and Incahuasi Island
We will have an unforgettable journey through 12,000 km (4,600 square miles) of fantastic saline landscapes. Get your cameras ready! The dazzling white cape of the Uyuni Salt Flats looks like a huge glacier. In winter (dry season from May to October), when the surface is firmer, geometric figures formed with salt particles appear that are grouped into polygons. In summer (rainy session from November to February) the salty desert becomes a giant mirror that merges with the purest sky in America. First of all, we will visit the train cemetery and then we will enter the salt flats through Colchani, where you can buy crafts made of salt; After this, towards the salt hills. Once in the vast surface of the white desert, we will visit the hotel made of salt, the wells, and we will reach the midpoint to visit the Incahuasi Island of volcanic rocks and giant cacti and a summit that, when climbed, becomes a extraordinary viewpoint of the white salt plain. After the island visit, we will have lunch and, in the afternoon, we will return to Uyuni aboard the night buses in time for their departure. Return to UYUNI at approximately 7:00 p.m.
