Day 1:
Train Cemetery – Colchani – Ojos de Sal – Incahuasi Island – DAKAR Monument – Sunset in the Salt Flats – Overnight in a Hostel
We will begin by picking you up from your hotel or the land terminal in Uyuni to head to our first destination.
We start by visiting the Train Cemetery, which dates back to the 19th century, where you can see the remains of old locomotives located a few kilometers from Uyuni, considered the largest railway cemetery in the world.
We will continue our journey to Colchani, a small town known for the production of salt-based products, where you can buy local crafts.
Afterwards we will visit the impressive Salar de Uyuni, which covers more than 10,000 km². Here we will see piles of salt in the shape of pyramids and the "salt eyes" where salt water flows, in addition to visiting the Salt Museum, where all the architecture and objects are made of salt.
Then we will arrive at the entrance to Incahuasi Island, where we will enjoy impressive views of this natural wonder, with an abundant presence of cacti. Here we will take a 30-minute tour and then head to the Dakar monument to capture beautiful photographs.
We will enjoy a delicious local lunch at this place.
After lunch, we will continue exploring the majestic Salar de Uyuni in the afternoon, visiting the water mirrors to appreciate the sunset, where the sky is reflected in the beautiful landscape, a place where earth and sky merge without limits.
Finally, at the end of our first day of the tour, we will go to our hostel to spend the night.
Day 2:
Pulacayo Mine and Colonial Church – Cañapa, Hedionda and Chulluncani Lagoons – Uyuni Town
We start the day full of energy to continue exploring what destiny has in store for us. We will start the tour by picking up everyone at the hostel around 9:30 a.m. to begin our adventure through the impressive Salar de Uyuni.
Our first destination on the second day will be the Pulacayo Mine, which was the most important silver and tin mine in Bolivia in 1952. Here we can take a guided tour of its small museum and we will also visit the Colonial Church.
Continuing with our tour, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the hot springs and saunas if we wish.
On this route, we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
Finishing our tour, we will visit at least three lagoons: Cañapa, Hedionda and Chulluncani, each one with distinctive colors that are part of the Altiplanic Lagoons. These lagoons are known for housing hundreds of flamingos and stand out for the color of their waters.
We will end the tour in the town of Uyuni around 6:00 p.m.
