Description
Let yourself be captivated by one of the most beautiful landscapes in Bolivia: the Uyuni salt flat. Can you imagine walking through the largest salt desert in the world?
At the indicated time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Uyuni and we will travel towards the Uyuni salt flat, one of the most famous landscapes in Bolivia. During the journey, we will make a brief stop at the “train cemetery”, a large esplanade full of rusty locomotives where it seems that time has stopped… You will love it!
We will stop in Colchani, the town located at the gates of the salt flat where we will visit a salt processing plant, we will learn what the main properties of this product are and we will see crafts made only of salt.
At noon, we will enter this salt flat, which has an area of more than 10,500 square kilometers, and we will see the Ojos de Sal, underground rivers that flow beneath the gigantic Uyuni salt flat. Did you know that it houses 60% of the world's lithium reserve? While we walk through it, we will see the salt extraction process and we will have an hour to taste a delicious local meal in this unique natural environment.
Once we have regained our strength, we will approach the first hotel that was built inside the salt. Afterwards, we will visit Incahuasi Island, famous for its giant cacti. This is one of the most characteristic images of Uyuni! And you will have 40 minutes of free time to take all the photos you want.
To put the finishing touch to our tour, when the last lights of the day leave the sky, we will enjoy the sunset reflected on the Uyuni salt flat. An image that will remain in your retina forever!
Finally, we will conclude this excursion by returning to your hotel in Uyuni, where we will arrive about 9 hours after the pickup.
