Description
Stroll through Bruges’ lush green spaces on a walking tour that seamlessly blends nature with the city's historic heart and also goes beyond the major tourist spots. This tour covers it all.
We meet at the main entrance of Bruges station and after a short introduction, we depart on our 2 - 2.5 hour walking tour in and around the city. Starting at the area around Minnewater ('Lake of Love'), you will not only discover Bruges' green and lush landscapes, but also discover its vibrant history.
As you leave the park, the tour winds through Bruges’ cobbled streets, where centuries-old architecture tells tales of the city’s golden age. Highlights along the way include the bustling Market Square - home to the impressive Belfry Tower - and other key landmarks such as the Burg Square, the Canals, Almshouses, the Hanseatic Quarter, popular Rosary Quay, the old St John's Hospital, the Church of Our Lady and the Beer Wall among others, that showcase Bruges' status as a historic center of trade and art. You’ll explore narrow alleys, marvel at the quaint canal bridges, and pass iconic buildings.
The tour concludes at the serene Beguinage, a historic site that was once home to a community of lay religious women. Here, you can admire the whitewashed houses, peaceful courtyard, and ancient trees that create a reflective, almost timeless atmosphere. This gentle end to the tour leaves you with a sense of Bruges’ layered history and beauty, having walked through its heart and taken in its most memorable sights.
