When a stand-up comedian and future surgeon who loves history decides to take you for an Odyssey of Azerbaijan's past, present and future.

1- We begin our tour in front of Icherisheher Metro Station, the first Metro Station of the Islamic World.

2- The Independence Monument. We go back in the history of Azerbaijan to understand how we got there!

3- We enter the Old City through the Double Gates to see a magical scene. Best called by one of my guests as "Cairene Paris".

4- A hidden "Heaven on Earth".

5- What's a Caravansarai and why are they named after an city in Pakistan? We'll see that with the Multani and Bukhara Caravansarais.

6- The Marketplace Square and why that's not what it is.

7- The Maiden Tower and its real story. The history of Zoroastrianism and how the story of the walls of Baku and the Caspian.

8- The enchanting Isa Bey Hajinski home and the story one of its occupants who changed the course of history.

9- The Juma Mosque. Your first (most likely) Shia mosque. History of the Islamic region, the schism and religion in Azerbaijan.

10- We'll go through the charming alleyways of the Old City to get our next destination.

11- The Palace of the Shah. The jewel of the Old City. Who are the Shirvan Shahs? How do you go from feeling like you rule the world to losing your power?

12- Museum of Miniature Books. The biggest collection of miniature books in the world.

13- The Bust of Aliagha Vahid and the story of the man who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders.

14- The Statue of Nizami. The man who's considered the national poet of Azerbaijan, and Iran, Afghanistan and India. What's his story?


15- Nizami Street. The street that never sleeps. The present and future of Azerbaijan.

Our journey ends at Icherisheher Metro Station, our meeting point.
