Description
Journey to Gabala for a day of sightseeing and relaxation in the city's stunning natural surroundings. Visit Lake Nohur and take in the tranquil views of the high mountains reflected in the placid lake.
Get picked up from your Baku hotel and drive towards Gabala. On the way, stop in Shemakha for a break and grab a bite to eat or a tea. Arrive in Gabala and head to Lake Nohur, a pristine lake surrounded by high mountains. Take in views of the tranquil setting and let the noise of the city melt away. Although swimming in the lake is prohibited (the lake is also used as a reservoir and provides drinking water for Gabala and surrounding regions), it is a perfect place for fishing. You can also hop on a boat and explore the lake at your leisure.
Then head to a nearby waterfall called Seven Beauties. A seven-tiered waterfall with multiple cascades, Seven Beauties is a must-see destination in the area. Because the trek up the steep slope alongside the waterfall is quite dangerous, it will be possible to see only two of the cascades. Sit and rest in a seasonal restaurant and teahouse where little sunlight penetrates and enjoy the cool shade as you listen to the rushing water of the falls.
Continue on to visit the Tufandag Winter Resort and ride the longest cable car in the world. Go skiing or take in unforgettable summer views of the Alpine landscapes beyond Gabala. Then visit the Gabala Sport Club, a world-class facility that trains professional athletes in shooting, boxing, karate, taekwondo, soccer, and judo. Try your hand at shooting onsite in the place where the national Olympic team trains.
Head back to Baku after an active day in and around Gabala.
