Description
You will be travelling in a rare 14-seater White Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. This will make your experience more than just being a number on one of the 25-seater buses you will see driving around.
After years of providing private group tours for friends, family and businesses, we realised how much we love to please people and try and go the extra mile to see a bigger smile at the end of the day.
So we built out our new Yarra Valley Public Tour that has the necessary itinerary but also has flexibility at the end of the day to split up the group depending on their preferences on wine, gin, beer and chocolate.
Most days you will find yourself being driven by the owner/driver - Thomas. If he is having a rare day off, you will be in the capable hands of one of his few trusted tour guides that also share Thomas's ethos of 'Going the extra mile to see a smile'.
Take a full-day wine tour in the Yarra Valley and discover some of the best wineries in Victoria just an hour's drive from Melbourne. Stop at four different venues, and sample wine, food and gin, beer or chocolate.
After pickup from the steps of St Paul's Cathedral, depart for the Yarra Valley. Our first stop is at one of our carefully selected few wineries we visit, Soumah of Yarra Valley. The cool climate allows this winery to specialize in styles and varieties typical to northern Italy and southeastern France, such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Depending on the day of the week, our second stop will either be Coldstream Hills or Helen & Joey. At Helen & Joey you will enjoy a guided tasting of five different wines whilst enjoying the panoramic views! Helen & Joey is famous for the view, and one of the most photographed unicorns in the world. They even make their own wine in a can, which is great to travel with and for picnics.
Or we can visit Coldstream Hills for wine tastings. Founded in 1985 by legendary winemaker and wine writer James Halliday, the cellar door offers tastings of their award-winning wines and sweeping views across the majestic Yarra Valley.
Our third stop is 'Quarters' restaurant at St Huberts for lunch and a look around their indigenous art gallery on the floor below their cellar door. If you brought food, you can eat it on the bus or we will sit in the restaurant and enjoy lunch together. Food and drink are not included in the tour price here, as to give you more freedom to enjoy a beer, wine, lunch or even another wine tasting at their cellar door. They offer a wide variety of fantastic food here and cater for all dietary requirements.
If you eat quickly here, we will happily drop you off at Domaine Chandon to treat yourself to a glass of sparkling wine while we wait for the others to finish lunch.
Our fourth stop is where you have the freedom to pick either gin, wine, beer or chocolate.
We park at Four Pillars Gin Distillery where we have a table and either a gin paddle, glass of wine, or can of beer included.
Or walk over to Payten and Jones for a wine tasting on us.
Or we will take you to Matilda Bay Brewery for a beer paddle on us.
Or we will take you to Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery for a look around and sample free chocolates.
