Departing Cairns, Palm Cove and Trinity Beach, this coastal drive an amazing experience at any time of the year. One of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, the Captain Cook Hwy stretches 75 km along the north coast between Cairns and Port Douglas.

As we travel it, you will discover some of the world’s most inspiring scenery, filled with tropical landscapes, marvel at the cliffs faces, tranquil coves and secluded beaches.


After our enjoyable drive north, our first stop is a tour is with the local indigenous tribe on a coastal beach walk experience, you will be introduced to the traditional fishing activity of spear throwing and handling. Practice your aim and shoot before embarking on a stroll (spear in hand) along the beach, through the mangroves and mudflats observing cultural medicine and food plants, whilst spotting the array of sealife beneath the water and hiding between the mangroves !

After our beach tour, we continue our drive 30 mins north to the Daintree Rainforest (the oldest rainforest in the world), where we jump aboard ‘Solar Whisper’ the only zero emission boat on the Daintree River.
We glide quietly up to crocodiles and other wildlife without scaring them or hurting their habitat, the boat is fitted with the unique “Croc Cam” to help show well camouflaged crocodiles and wildlife, this beautiful experience practices true Eco Tourism.

We enjoy a delicious picnic lunch by the water before heading to the historical town of Port Douglas for an ice-cream at the lookout, overlooking the bays, for as far as the eye can see.

After our swim, this is where our day ends and we start our journey home – enjoy the scenery as we drive south, down the scenic coastal.
