Description

Experience Armenia’s rich heritage in a day! Start with breathtaking views at Khor Virap, visit Areni’s ancient wine cellars, and explore the beautiful Noravank Monastery surrounded by red cliffs.
Our adventure begins in Yerevan, where we will meet you at your hotel to ensure a comfortable start to the day. From there, we’ll set off to explore the treasures of southern Armenia.

Our first stop is the Khor Virap Monastery, a historic site with deep spiritual significance. Here, you’ll learn about Saint Gregory the Illuminator, who was imprisoned in this very place. Don’t miss the chance to capture the breathtaking view of the majestic, biblical Mount Ararat.

Leaving the Ararat Valley behind, we’ll travel to the Vayots Dzor province, home to the renowned Areni Village, famous for its winemaking traditions. At the Areni 1 Cave, you’ll discover incredible archaeological finds, including the world’s oldest leather shoe (5,500 years old) and the oldest known winery (6,100 years old).

For lunch, enjoy a delightful wine tasting and traditional meal at a local winery, where you’ll savor the flavors of Armenian wines and cuisine.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the stunning Noravank Monastery, nestled amidst dramatic red cliffs in a picturesque canyon. This architectural gem, surrounded by awe-inspiring nature, is a perfect spot for photography and reflection.

After an enriching day of history, culture, and breathtaking views, we’ll return to Yerevan.
