Description
Discover the Cathedral of the Mother of God in Echmiadzin and immerse yourself in the history and art of Armenian viticulture. Enjoy delicious wines in a unique atmosphere.
Today we set off on a fascinating journey.
Our first destination is Echmiadzin, the religious center of all Armenians, just 20 km from the capital. Here stands the Cathedral of Our Lady of Echmiadzin, which was built in 303 and is considered to be the first official Christian church in the world. In this historic setting, we also visit the Echmiadzin Museum, which houses holy relics, and the 7th-century Church of St. Hripsime, which, together with the cathedral, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After this cultural experience, we enjoy a delicious lunch in a charming garden restaurant in Echmiadzin before continuing our journey to the Aragatsotn region. In the village of Sasunik, the wine museum awaits us, where we gain an insight into the fascinating history of viticulture in Armenia.
Finally, we head to the winery, which is set among picturesque vineyards and welcomes us with its inviting atmosphere. After a tour of the winery, we have the opportunity to taste delicious wines before returning to Yerevan in a good mood. This trip promises not only cultural discoveries, but also enjoyable moments in the midst of Armenian wine tradition.
