If you are looking for adventure or the fresh mountain air not too far from the capital, than this is the tour for you. Surrounded by fairy-like landscapes, you will hike for 10 kilometers to reach a height of 2,229 meters above sea level.
Your guide will meet you at your hotel from where your vehicle will take you to the village of Kaputan, where the adventurous hiking to Gutanasar Mountain will begin. Gutanasar is an extinct volcano of the Geghama Range, and boasts incredible views of the surrounding region.
The lava flow traces are still visible from the left slope of the mountain, and the summit of the mountain, at a height of 2,299 meters, grants magnificent views of the Geghama Range, the fertile plain of Ararat with the biblical mountain of the same name.
As you walk, the vibrant landscapes on the way will be sure to draw your attention. Your hike will end as you descend to the village of Fantan, where your vehicle will be waiting for you to take you back to Yerevan.
