Description
Explore the exquisit collection of Impressionist paintings at the Museum Barberini - one of the world's most important centers of Impressionist landscape painting.
Located in the reconstructed palace in Potsdam's historic centre, the Museum Barberini displays the important collection of more than 100 Impressionist paintings of the founder Hasso Plattner, including masterpieces by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Berthe Morisot, Gustave Caillebotte and Paul Signac. With 39 paintings by Claude Monet, nowhere else in Europe outside Paris are there more works by this artist. In addition to the collection, the museum shows up to three special exhibitions a year with loans from international museums and collections. An extensive program of events and mediation consisting of symposia and readings, guided tours and concerts, film evenings and workshops accompanies the exhibitions and invites visitors to engage in a lively exchange about art.
