With the condemnation and burning of two Ravensburg women, the first systematic persecution of women as witches in Germany began in 1484, carried out by the papal inquisitor.
On this tour you will be confronted with the scenes of the witch hunt in Ravensburg: the Church of Our Lady, the Grüner Turm prison, the courtroom in the town hall and the cabinet exhibition in the Humpis-Quartier Museum. Learn about the victims and perpetrators of the Ravensburg Witch Trials and the devastating effects of the witch's hammer, the work of the inquisitor Heinrich Institoris.
