This self-guided tour program is specially designed for travellers who wish to explore Albania independently however in a professionally organized way.
Day 1: Tirana/Shkodra – Theth – Blue Eye – Theth
Depart early from Tirana or Shkodra for a scenic drive through Northern Albania. After a steep ascent to Qafa e Thores for panoramic views, start a 6.2 km round-trip hike to the Blue Eye, a mesmerizing blue-green spring. Enjoy a refreshing dip in its chilly waters if you dare. After the hike, visit Theth’s Old Church and “Lock-in” Tower before spending the night at a traditional guesthouse.
Day 2: Theth – Grunas Waterfall – Theth
After breakfast, hike from Theth to Grunas Waterfall, a one-hour trek from the Village. The waterfall’s dramatic cascade over grey rocks is a natural monument. Spend some time admiring the scenery before returning to Theth for a free afternoon to explore the National Park. Overnight in Theth.
Day 3: Theth – Shkoder/Tirana
Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Albanian Alps one last time before heading back. The journey includes a scenic drive through Qafa e Thores,. Return home with unforgettable memories of Albania’s natural beauty.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
* All participants are responsible for having their own health/travel insurance.
* This tour requires some hiking experience and good physical condition.
* This tour departs early in the morning; thus, we would recommend you to eat breakfast before the tour departure or to take some food with you.
*Blue eye: elevation up to 789 m, hiking 3-4 hours one way
* Grunas Waterfall: elevation up to 270m, hiking 1 hour one way.
* The accommodation is based in traditional and simple homestay/guesthouse/lodge- style with basic bathroom amenities. Each room typically accommodates two to five travelers, and it might be necessary for male and female groups to share a room, unless you book a private room. Private rooms are possible on 40 Euros extra charge per night per room based on availability.
Departure time: 5:45 (you have to be at this point at 5:30 am)
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
