Description
Join us for the 80th Anniversary Remembrance Tour of the Battle of the Bulge, honoring the bravery and sacrifices made during WWII's final Nazi offensive.
In December 1944, during Christmas, the Battle of the Bulge marked the last major Nazi offensive of World War II. Over 140,000 soldiers were killed, captured, or wounded. Survivors carried the heavy memories of this battle for life.
During the 100-mile drive to the battle sites, our guide will introduce the key events leading up to the conflict. We begin our tour at the poignant Neuville-en-Condroz American Cemetery and Memorial, where thousands of U.S. military personnel rest.
Afterward, we travel an hour to McAuliffe Square in Bastogne, a town known for its pivotal role in the battle. Here, you’ll see the statue of General Anthony McAuliffe, famous for his defiant "Nuts" response to the German demand for surrender, as well as an M3 Sherman tank.
We then visit the renowned Mardasson Memorial, which honors the American soldiers wounded or killed during the battle. The monument is uniquely shaped like a five-pointed star.
Next, we head to the Bastogne War Museum, a must-see. In addition to lunch facilities, the museum offers immersive exhibits, including 3D videos that provide an emotional perspective on the battle. It also highlights the contributions of British and Canadian battalions.
Finally, we pay our respects at the solemn German cemetery and visit the foxholes near the village of Foy, once occupied by the 101st Airborne Division.
