Day 1 visit to Rozhensky Monastery from the 13th century is located Pirin mountain and the smallest town in Bulgaria - Melnik with a population of 150 inhabitants, famous for wine production. About 3 hours from Sofia on a scenic road you reach the village.
Day 2 Bachkovo Monastery, the 2nd largest monastery is located in the Rhodope Mountains, the monastery dates back to at least the 11th century, beautiful scenery with the option of visiting Plovdiv the oldest city in Europe or the Asenova fortress.Distance 2,5 hours from Sofia.
Day 3 Rila Monastery, the most famous and largest monastery in Bulgaria, built in the 10th century, is located in Rila Mountain, a lot of history, museums, beautiful nature, possibility to visit the cave of Ivan Rila, the place where the history of the monastery begins. Optional lunch in the Rila Nature Park along the river Rila.
