Day 1: Gjirokastra and Saranda
Morning: Gjirokastra
Arrival in Gjirokastra: Start your day early in Gjirokastra, known for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture and UNESCO World Heritage status.
Visit the Gjirokastra Castle: Explore the castle, which offers panoramic views of the town and the Drino Valley. Inside, you can visit the National Museum of Armaments.
Wander the Old Bazaar: Stroll through the cobbled streets of the bazaar, where you can find local crafts, traditional Albanian souvenirs, and enjoy the unique architecture.
Afternoon: Saranda
Lunch in Gjirokastra: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, tasting traditional dishes like "qofte" (meatballs) and "byrek" (savory pastry).
Travel to Saranda: After lunch, drive to Saranda (approximately 1.5 hours). This coastal city is known for its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife.
Explore Saranda: Upon arrival, take a walk along the promenade, relax at a beach, or visit the nearby archaeological site of Butrint, another UNESCO World Heritage site (if time allows).
Evening: Dinner in Saranda

Overnight Stay: Spend the night in Saranda. Choose from a variety of hotels or guesthouses that offer beautiful views of the Ionian Sea.
Day 2: Blue Eye and Permet

Visit the Blue Eye: Depart for the Blue Eye (Syri i Kalter), a natural spring known for its striking blue water (approximately 30 minutes from Saranda). Take some time to admire the beauty of this natural wonder and enjoy the surrounding nature.
Late Morning: Permet
Travel to Permet: After visiting the Blue Eye, continue your journey to Permet (about 1 hour).
Explore Permet: Once in Permet, visit the local landmarks such as the 18th-century Orthodox Church of Saint Mary and the charming town center. If you have time, consider a short hike to the nearby thermal springs at Benja.
Lunch in Permet:
Local Cuisine: Enjoy lunch in Permet, sampling local dishes like "trilece" (a traditional Albanian dessert) and "lakror" (a savory pie).
