Sharm el-Sheikh, enjoy the best of the Red Sea and the Sinai Desert
Sharm El Sheikh is the perfect place for a beach holiday after visiting temples and tombs in other parts of Egypt (Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan). Tourists flocking to Sharm el-Sheikh for a change of scenery from the dusty interiors of Egyptian temples and can expect world-class snorkelling on beautiful beaches and coral reefs. Sharm El Sheikh is a well-known holiday destination with a unique culture; therefore, travellers should make sure to visit the bustling city streets, visit the local markets, and taste the local cuisine to understand the intricacies of the pace of life there. Meanwhile, Sharm El Sheikh invites you to explore the best areas and try new dishes. Most of the coastal dive sites are also available for snorkellers, and boat trips will take snorkelers to the more remote reefs of the Strait of Tiran and Ras Mohammed. As you look deeper into the reef, you will be amazed by the beauty and variety of marine life you encounter along some of Egypt's most beautiful reefs. The turquoise waters of Naama Bay are perfect for snorkelling and diving. Those looking to snorkel, or snorkel may prefer El Fanar Beach, which offers easy access to coral reefs and aquatic life. Ras Mohammed National Park, a few miles from the coast of Sharm, is one of the best diving sites in the world, with its marginal and hermatypic coral reefs where over 220 coral species can be found, 125 of which are soft corals. Ras Mohammed National Park Famous coral reefs, wreck diving, fantastic snorkelling and rich marine life are all for you to stroll and explore Ras Mohammed National Park. Surrounded by some of the most incredible dive sites in the world, it has beautiful beaches with great snorkelling just offshore, is considered the second northernmost mangrove forest in the world and has an amazing saltwater lake. It is located close to Sherm el Sheikh old market and Ras Mohamed National Park, which makes it immensely popular with divers, has a depth of 15 to 40 meters and is full of amazing reefs and rare fish. Sharm El Sheikh is a two-hour boat ride away, where diving is often combined with trips to Ras Mohamed or Zestel Gorm National Park. About a half-hour drive from Sharm el-Sheikh (but also accessible by boat) is the beautiful Ras Mohamed Nature Reserve, a protected area at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. Non-divers can find plenty of activities on the shore, as Sharm El Sheikh is just a short walk from many of Sinai's historical and natural attractions.
