1. Hue Imperial City (The Citadel) As a massive work with high architectural value, Hue Citadel was built over a period of nearly 30 years - started in 1804 under the reign of King Gia Long and completed in 1833 under King Ming Mang. The construction is a unique combination of traditional Vietnamese architecture, Oriental philosophical ideology, and Yin-yang theory, influenced by a type of Western military architecture called Vauban.

2. Thien Mu Pagoda For visitors, this Buddhist site has grand, ancient architecture to marvel at and photograph. It’s a long history (from the 17th century). Thanks to the hilltop location, one of the best spots to view the Perfume River is here, especially during the sunset every afternoon.

3. The Khai Dinh Tomb is the mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh, the twelfth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam. It is located on the Chau Chu mountain, about 10 kilometers from the center of Hue. The tomb is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the most unique and interesting royal tombs in Vietnam.

4. Tomb of Tu Duc Emperor: Tomb of Tu Duc is located in a narrow valley of Duong Xuan Thuong village (currently Thuong Ba village, Thuy Xuan commune, Hue city). It was the place where he could retreat from the Citadel to compose poetry or go hunting because the monument was finished when the king was still in reign.

5. Tomb of Minh Mang Emperor: Ming Mang Emperor is the 2nd King of the Nguyen Dynasty. His tomb is a standard architectural complex consisting of 40 constructions (palaces, temples, pavilions, etc.) designed on a symmetric axis running from Dai Hong gate to the foot of La Thanh (Surrounding Wall) behind the Emperor’s tomb.
