10 Day Ho Chi Minh Trail Motorcycle Tour from Hanoi

Explore the beauty of Vietnam on a 10-day motorcycle tour. Ride through the picturesque landscapes of Pu Luong Nature Reserve, visit the Phong Nha National Park, and see the historic Truong Son Mountain range.

DAY 1: Hanoi - Pu Luong Natural Park.

Ride a motorcycle to Pu Luong Nature Reserve and see its rice terraces, authentic villages, and lush vegetation. Ride to the highest mountain in Thanh Hoa province and meet the white Thai and the Muong ethnic group. Spend the night in their beautiful house on stilts and explore their daily life.

DAY 2: Pu Luong natural park - Tan Ky Town.

Ride on a small, spectacular, and paved trail along the Ma river. Continue riding on the Ho Chi Minh trail, now a newly built highway, through lush jungle and beautiful villages nestled in the shadow of the historic Truong Son Mountain range. Arrive in Tan Ky town and spend the night at a remote town.

DAY 3: Tan Ky - Phong Nha National Park

Ride on the Ho Chi Minh Highway until Pho Chau town, the first point of the original Ho Chi Minh trail. Explore the biggest and most beautiful cave in Indochina, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

DAY 4: Phong Nha - Dong Hoi Town

After breakfast, boat and explore the spectacular Phong Nha cave, the oldest major karst area in Asia. Ride to the coastal town of Dong Hoi, which was heavily shelled by US warships during the war. Relax on the beach and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5: Dong Hoi - Quang Tri DMZ - Khe Sanh Town

Ride through a remote area which was once sprayed heavily by Agent Orange towards the former DMZ. Visit the remnants of the original trail and the aggressive war, like a Vinh Moc Tunnel (a 2.8 km labyrinth underground), Truong Son Cemetery, and the famous Hien Luong Bridge.

DAY 6: Khe Sanh - A Sau - A Luoi

Explore the former marine base of Khe Sanh, ride to the Dakrong bridge and the southern section of the Ho Chi Minh trail. Ride into the extraordinary mountains and wild landscapes to discover a multitude of ethnic minorities in A Luoi Village.

DAY 7: A Luoi Village - Hue

Ride relatively easy to Hue, the old imperial citadel and then explore the poetic beauty of the old city such as the Hue imperial palace, the King tomb, and the Dong Ba market. Relax and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 8: Hue - Hai Van Pass - Da Nang - Hoi An Old Town

Ride to Hoi An, a World Heritage site, through Lang Co beach and Hai Van pass. In the afternoon, arrive at a major trading center in Asia at the 16th centuries and walk leisurely in the old town. Relax on Cua Dai beach and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 9: Hoi An

Walk around the ancient quarter for visits to the old wooden-fronted houses, the Japanese-covered bridge, the Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese assembly hall, and the wonderful market. Relax and shop. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Hoi An - Transfer to Da Nang Airport for departure

Ride a motorcycle back to Da Nang airport for the departure flight.
