Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Day 2: Hanoi to Mai Chau (B, L)
Start your day early with breakfast before heading to Mai Chau, a serene valley surrounded by lush mountains and rice paddies. The 3-4 hour drive offers breathtaking views of the countryside. Upon arrival, enjoy a local lunch featuring traditional dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. Spend the afternoon exploring the villages of ethnic minority groups like the Thai and H’mong. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about their customs, traditional stilt houses, and local handicrafts. In the evening, attend a traditional dance performance, where you can also try the local rice wine.
Day 3: Hanoi to Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)
Leave the city behind as you journey to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its emerald waters and towering limestone islands. Board a traditional junk boat for an overnight cruise through the bay. As you sail, enjoy a delicious lunch on board while taking in the stunning scenery. In the afternoon, explore one of the many caves, such as Sung Sot (Surprise Cave), known for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. You can also visit Titov Island, where you can swim or hike to the viewpoint for a panoramic view of the bay. In the evening, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner and relax under the stars.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay to Hanoi (B, L)
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over Ha Long Bay. After breakfast on the boat, continue exploring the bay with a visit to a floating fishing village or a kayak excursion through hidden lagoons. Enjoy a leisurely cruise back to the harbor, with lunch served on board. Upon arrival at the pier, transfer back to Hanoi. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore Hanoi at your own pace. You might want to visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, or take a walk around the French Quarter to admire the colonial architecture.
Day 5: Hanoi to Da Nang (B)
Day 6: Marble Mountain - Bay Mau Coconut Forest - Hoi An Old Town (B, D)
After breakfast, visit Marble Mountain, a cluster of five marble and limestone hills. Explore the caves and pagodas hidden within the mountains, and enjoy the panoramic views from the summit. Next, head to the Bay Mau Coconut Forest, where you can take a traditional basket boat ride through the water coconut groves. Later in the day, continue to Hoi An, a charming ancient town. After settling into your hotel, enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant before exploring the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An Old Town, where you can shop for souvenirs and admire the well-preserved architecture.
Day 7: Hue Imperial City - Hai Van Pass (B, L)
Day 8: Da Nang (Leisure Day)
Day 9: Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City Tour - Cu Chi Tunnels
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta
Day 12: Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City
Day 13: Departure from Ho Chi Minh City
