Rocket through the galaxy at the speed of light or journey deep into the oceans of the world as the Academy boldly brings life to life. Come face-to-face with snakes and piranhas, meet Claude the American alligator with albinism, and hang out with Pierre, Howard, Ocio, and the rest of the South African penguin colony.
Stroll through the rainforest dome with its free-flying birds and butterflies and become immersed in the rainforests of Borneo, Madagascar, Costa Rica, and the flooded Amazon. Discover Borneo bats, chameleons, poison dart frogs, leaf cutter ants, gliders, snakes, and so much more. Catch the latest amazing digital planetarium show, taking you on a spectacular journey to the far reaches of the universe, held 7-10 times a day.
Designed by award-winning architect Renzo Piano, the museum housed under a living roof will inspire lifelong curiosity for the natural world as you experience the depths of a Philippine coral reef, climb into the canopy of a Costa Rican rainforest, and fly to the outer reaches of the universe.

• All guests ages 2 & up must continue to wear a mask indoors
• Effective February 1, all guests ages 12+ who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 booster must provide proof of full vaccination and a booster shot to enter the museum. Negative COVID-19 tests will no longer be accepted for entry
• Effective March 15, proof of full vaccination will also be required for ages 5-11, with this age group exempted from the booster requirement at this time
• Acceptable forms of proof include a paper vaccination card, photo of valid vaccination card, or digital vaccination card. Visitors ages 18 years and over will also be required to provide photo ID
• To reserve entry to the Planetarium you will need to scan a QR code with your smartphone at the Academy and select an entry time
• Children under 4 are not permitted inside the Planetarium
• General entry ticket, exhibits, and shows are included
• Food and drinks will not be provided
The number of visitors is limited to reduce crowds
All areas that customers touch are frequently cleaned
You are required to bring and wear a mask
All participants who are over 12 years old must present proof of full vaccination
In addition to proof of vaccination, all participants who are over 18 years old must present a government-issued photo ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport, etc)
The California Academy of Science is located at 55 Music Concourse Drive, inside Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. On the day, proceed directly to the attraction entrance and present your ticket for entry to the California Academy of Sciences.
