This trail, once part of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue. Starting at Sevier Junction, the trail crosses Clear Creek and the Sevier River, entering a breathtaking canyon adorned with colorful rock formations.
As you pedal south, you'll pass through the 200-foot-long Eagle Rock tunnel, constructed in 1896, complete with historical markers that narrate the railroad's storied past. Further along, the trail hugs the river, providing ample opportunities to spot local wildlife such as deer and wild turkeys. The journey culminates near the Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort, where facilities like lodging, refreshments, and restrooms await.
